In the area of the pommels, the padding is slightly firmer to give the pad the right shape and the stability required in these areas. In the seat area, the padding is kept somewhat softer. The padding of the seat slowly adapts to the individual anatomy of horse and rider while riding. This can take about ten to twenty minutes during the first use. From minute to minute it becomes more and more comfortable. The result is an unbelievably pleasant sitting feeling.
At the front, the seat area, which is raised by about 4 cm, is so narrow that the leg can hang loosely even on a wider horse. This automatically makes the posture more upright, the mobility in the hips freer, so that you can swing along wonderfully with the horse's movements. On the seat, the padding becomes wider and provides comfort and support for the rider's ischial tuberosities. The side panels are only a tiny 5mm flat and allow the closest contact with the horse.??In the withers area, the pad is cut so high that it is also perfectly suited for horses with very high withers. The two paddings of the support surface form a small channel above the horse's spine.
When choosing the top side, you can decide between the materials microfibre velour and leather fibre fabric ("Lefa"). Both materials are breathable, water-repellent and washable. Microfibre velour is more non-slip and gives more grip, Lefa is more stable.??The underside is made of a robust, non-slip felt. So you don't need to girth too tightly. Ideal for horses that are sensitive to strapping. The girth does not run over the horse's back, so that punctual pressure is excluded. To avoid punctual pressure on the spine, there is also no stirrup attachment and the horse is ridden without stirrups.
For cleaning, the underside of the pad can be carefully brushed out. The pad has been designed to be used without a saddle blanket. If you wish, you can of course also use a saddle blanket. The top side can be cleaned with a damp cloth or sponge. Saddle soap and saddle grease can also be used, but you do not necessarily need these care products.
The LaBona DRESSAGE I riding pad is suitable for almost all types of horses. For horses with protruding spinous processes, the padding avoids the unpleasant pressure between a protruding spine of the horse and the ischial tuberosity of the rider. For horses with a broad back, the shape of the seat supports an elongated leg and thus provides the prerequisite for a freely moving hip.
NOTE: Hard, rough or dull surfaces as well as zips, Velcro, hard seams or rubber on riding clothes (this also includes boots and chaps) can, however, lead to abrasion and in the worst case the fabric can wear through. If, contrary to expectations, the pad shows signs of damage caused by material incompatibilities that go beyond normal signs of use, the item of clothing or equipment should no longer be used in conjunction with the pad. Damage caused by material incompatibility is not a reason for complaint. A so-called pilling effect can occur on the felt over time. This is also no reason for complaint.
