Raw material for horses
Both feral horses in the wild and grazing horses spend 14-16 hours a day eating food rich in raw fibre. In times of high temperatures, large insect plagues or in cold and wet weather, horses shorten their feeding times. However, horses rarely go more than three hours without food on their own. In general, one can even assume that horses take a few bites of food every hour. In the course of evolution, the construction and function of the digestive system has adapted to this eating behaviour with long feeding times and a constant feed intake. Deviations from this eating behaviour often result in digestive problems and behavioural disorders.
Particularly in today's widespread stall keeping, this eating behaviour is rarely taken into consideration, usually for reasons of time. Horses cannot satisfy their need to chew and boredom is pre-programmed. It is therefore important to keep horses occupied, especially for box horses with a low stimulus environment.
PRE ALPIN COMPACT is a handy cuboid pressed from warm air-dried meadow herbs and grasses. It is an ideal and, above all, healthy activity food for in between times. Like all PRE ALPIN products, it is free of mould and dust. The gentle warm air drying process preserves most of the vital and nutrient substances. Its coarse structure also makes it an ideal staple food.
The handy and practical cuboids are also particularly suitable for travelling, tournaments, hiking and endurance riding.
