- especially rich in crude fibre through use of the complete plant
- appropriate for liver and kidney diets
- high energy density with low protein content and high fibre Content
- for build-up of underweight horses and hard keepers
- provide energy for endurance performance
- for nervous and very temperamental horses
- free of additives
- cobs of 9 mm diameter
A special requirement in horse feeding is the feed for high-performance sport horses and skinny horses. If the feed intake capacity is limited, it is difficult to ensure a performance-related supply of energy while at the same time ensuring a sufficiently high quantity of crude fibre. Therefore the use of basic feed with high energy density is an indispensable prerequisite for healthy feeding.
In the production of AGROBS MAISCOBS, the complete maize plant, i.e. stalk, leaves and corncob, is used. This ensures that the horse receives sufficient raw fibre in addition to energy and that the metabolism is not burdened by too much starch. The plants are harvested at the optimum time, chopped and immediately dried in a modern hot-air drying plant. Due to this gentle preservation there is no nutrient-consuming fermentation and a product with high energy density is produced.
The advantage of corn cobs is their high crude fibre content combined with high energy density and low protein content (3.97 % digestible crude protein). As a result, the energy is slowly and steadily released in the large intestine. This is a particular advantage for horses that have to perform endurance, e.g. in endurance, eventing and driving sports.
Nervous and spirited horses also benefit from the high proportion of slowly digestible carbohydrates. The energy from these is released slowly and does not increase the risk of nervous horses becoming excitable.
INGREDIENTS : complete maize plant from Bavarian cultivation
AREAS OF USE
- as build-up feed in times of increased need
- in underweight and/or old horses for build-up
- for a low-protein diet
- in case of endurance performance (e.g. in endurance or military horses)
FEEDING RECOMMENDATION
- dependent on type of horse and performance: 100 to 300 g per 100 kg ideal body weight
Progressive introduction, AGROBS® suggests to generally soak cobs.
