NATURAL ANTI-INSECT SHIELD THAT PREVENTS INSECTS FROM ADHERING TO THE HAIR AND COMBINES A PREVENTIVE ANTI-DERMATITIS ACTION (OR MILD DERMATITIS)

Biotechnological protection Shield against bugs based on complex essential oils and dry micro wax inspired by carnivorous plants.

Olfactory action: very slow diffusion of essential oils allowing to modify the body smell of the horse for more than 6 hours

Mechanical action of the dry micro-wax: prolongation of the effect of protection up to 72 hours by preventing the adhesion of the insects on the hair.

Without water, thus without evaporation.

WHEN TO USE DERFLY?

To protect your horse from insects, prevent sweet itch, soothe light itching and moisturize dry skin between the manes.

HOW TO USE DERFLY?

As your protection against insects
Apply with a glove in the opposite direction of hair (for an optimized effect) on the main areas where insects settle (croup, neck, back, legs).
As your prevention of Dermatitis / Sweet-itch
2 to 3 applications per week. Apply by hand on the mane and the top of the tail like a lotion. Then, using a glove, apply to areas usually affected by hair loss or scratching.
As your prevention of light scratchings
2 applications per week. Apply at the base of the mane and on the neck, directly on the skin. Suitable for all skin types (thin or thick) and provides hydration and repair on lightly scratched areas
As your support of skin hydration
Apply the lotion at the base of the hair, directly on the skin. 2 applications per week.

HOW TO APPLY

1. Pour the lotion on a glove.

Due to the presence of coconut oil, Derfly™ may thicken or set below +20°C room temperature. In this case, run the bottle 1 minute under hot water and then shake to liquefy the components. You can leave the bottle in the sun or warm it up by placing it against you in your coat for about 10 minutes (or behind your car windshield in full sun).

Can be applied to pregnant mares and foals over 6 months of age - non-doping, non-photosensitizing product. Formulated without neem oil, DEET, benzyl benzoate or bone oil.

Can I use Derfly with Natjely?
This is a combination our customers have come up with! Mix Derfly with Natjely and you’ll get a fantastic moisturising and insect-repelling cream. We’ve nicknamed it Natfly!!
Deryfly comes out of the bottle less runny. Is this normal?
Animaderm is committed to 100% natural products. However, natural active ingredients sometimes have certain limitations. This is the case with those used in Derfly™. As stated on our website and on the bottle, Derfly™ must be stored at a temperature above 18–20°C; otherwise, the product thickens. Depending on the temperature, it may set. Indeed, the unique feature of Derfly™ is that it coats the hair with natural agents similar to those used by certain plants to prevent insects from adhering. Unfortunately, this natural coating mechanism has its limitations, which we did not wish to overcome by adding synthetic products – the only solution to prevent this change in state, but one that could irritate the animal’s skin. If the product has been exposed to low temperatures below 18–20°C (during storage, transport, etc.), exposing the bottle to the sun for half an hour or running it under hot water for several minutes (in the case of very low temperatures) will be sufficient to restore it to its liquid form after shaking. Finally, when applying the product, if the outside temperature is low, Derfly™ will not solidify on your horse, as the horse’s body temperature is 38°C.
Can I use a sponge to apply Derfly?
Deryfly is best applied using a rough-textured glove. A sponge works too, but will tend to absorb too much product. Instead, use a cloth or even a washcloth or a horsehair glove, as shown on our Website.
