Cleaning horse brushes
1. Preparation
First remove the superficial dirt by carefully tapping the brushes on a firm surface. Alternatively, the brushes can also be brushed together to remove rough dirt.
2. Optional: Disinfecting the bristles
We recommend spraying the brushes with disinfectant every 2nd to 3rd cleaning process. A disinfectant for care and hygiene products from the drugstore can be used for this. Run your hand through the bristles and apply the disinfectant to a large area. Wait 1-2 minutes.
3. Washing the bristles
Wash the bristles under a lukewarm jet of water. Brushes that are used for the rougher dirt can also be rinsed with a water hose. Run your hand through the bristles and wash them until only the run-off water remains clear.
4. Cleaning the brush body
If there is any dirt on the body of the brush, it can be wiped off with a damp cloth. Further cleaning is not necessary as the wood has antibacterial properties.
5. Cleaning the leather strap
The leather strap does not always need to be cleaned. However, it can also be wiped with a damp cloth. In this case it is important to moisten the entire leather strap and not just certain areas. Leather care or olive oil can then be applied. This keeps the strap nice and supple and gives it an extra portion of shine.
6. Drying
Complete drying of the brushes after washing is particularly important. A sunny, dry place is recommended for this. Wait for the bristles to be completely dry before using them again.
