The Equizaum® is a high-quality, handcrafted cavesson, halter, sidepull and boveçon. It is made entirely to your specifications by hand by Equimero® and adapts perfectly to the horse's head thanks to its mix of sizes for each part. The Equizaum® can also be completed with accessories for use as a snaffle, snaffle with separator or "Bitless Bridle"!

Create your own unique piece full of colour! Each Biothane strap can be customised, with a range of materials and padding colours available, as well as text and logo personalisation. A multi-talented tool for optimum adaptation to your horse's anatomy and your needs, thanks to a host of extras!

Cavessons often have cheeck-pieces placed far too close to our horses' eyes, or which press on the nerve endings that emerge directly from the foramen near the zygomatic apophysis. Thanks to the remarkable adaptability of Equizaum®, these weak points have been eliminated. The cheeck pieces can be scaled by around 4 cm up and down (less on small sizes) for precise adjustment. They can then be attached with Velcro between the nose padding and the noseband in the most adapted position. On top of that, the throatlash can be slid into it perfect position, too.

The Equizaum® is made from 19mm wide biothane (16mm for Shetlands and Minis and up to 25mm for draught horses). The noseband is made from 25mm wide biothane to improve pressure distribution. Hand-stitched using a free-arm sewing machine, which allows anatomical shaping and the use of extremely strong thread.

The Sizing - Precise anatomical fit thanks to a made-to-measure sizing concept
Select the circumference of the nose, neck and ganache in the configurator. Please pay particular attention to our measurement information. Please measure as accurately as possible, measure several times and compare the results. Perhaps mark the important points (pink) on the head. You'll find a size chart here in PDF format, which you can download and print out to take with you to the stables on the buttom of this description.

The many Extras

Neck Patches - Relieve pressure in the sensitive neck area
For each Equizaum, first choose the design of the headpiece. You can choose between a classic biothane headpice with a padding, or you can opt for the Neck Patches, to which a browband can be attached as an option.
The Neck Patches are a special headpiece that leaves the sensitive nuchal ligament cord free of pressure, thanks to the construction of a bridge around the headpiece passage. The Neck Patches are connected to each other by a length-adjustable strap so you can adjust the Neck Patches to the optimum position for your horse. The area directly behind the horse's ears is rounded and the cut is made so that the soft underside is pulled up to avoid a seam edge pressing against the sensitive back of the ears.

Nasal arch - for a better fit
Integrated into the soft and resistant padding (Sympanova or felt) of the noseband, the nasal arch offers an better fit for more precise communication during ground work, such as a lunging session.
Fibreglass -> Very light. It guarantees sufficient flexibility, but also great stability while remaining as light as possible. What's more, the material is very strong and won't break, so there's no risk of injury.
-> Foldable metal. Slightly heavier, it can be adapted to the horse's nose by hand. We recommend the metal bow for very narrow noses (thoroughbreds). Also for draught horses who know their strength. For very small ponies, the fibreglass bow is more suitable as it is much lighter.

The Bithanger - Transform your cavesson into a snaffle in seconds
On the cheeck pieces are two additional rings for attaching the Bithangers where then a bit can be attached. In this way, the Equizaum® can be used like a traditional snaffle.

The Separator" accessory - bitless and with bit at the same time
For use as a "Sidepull" and "Classic Snaffle" at the same time. Well suited to riders with unstable hands, for working with young horses and also for the transition to bitless riding. The separator is a strap that you attach to both the noseband rings and the bit to distribute the action of the hand between the two points of contact.

Bitless Bridle" accessory - without bit and by pressure on the ganache
The "bitless bridle" strap is attached to the rings of the uprights, crossed at the bottom of the head and passed through the side rings of the noseband for action on the ganache. All additional and interchangeable accessories can be re-ordered at any time.
